Weekly reading update 2026-09-27
An update on what I’m reading this week. It has long been my goal to read more like I used to before “I got too busy.” So, I have stopped looking at social media, and now I dedicate my time to reading. I won’t say I never fall into the trap of seeing what is suggested on YouTube, but I do my best. These updates will subtly force me to read instead of wasting my time on mindless activities.
On Anger (De Ira) by Seneca
Dungeon Crawler Carl Book 5: The Butcher’s Masquerade by Matt Dinniman - Damn, these books are so good.
Managing the Professional Service Firm by David Maister (Audiobook) - PSA: Spotify Premium includes 15 hours of audiobooks per month. These generally take me longer to get through than regular books as mainly listen to them in the car. I have some long drives this week, so I should be able to get deeper into it.
Shahsuvaryan, M. L. (2026). Metformin as an emerging candidate for diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma pharmacotherapy: Evidence and perspectives. Current Reviews in Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology. Advance online publication. doi.org/10.2174/0127724328519947260917114932 (This is the article I’m reading to write about on What the Fundus)
The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday - I read from this book every day and recommend it to everyone who is struggling with sorting out their thoughts. I don’t know how many years I have been reading it. It is divided up with a Stoic axiom each day. So if you miss a day here and there, no big deal. You can just catch up on it next year.
